Guest Reviews

From the guest book.

“The place was stunning. Definitely one of our best Airbnb experiences. The house had everything we needed, including comfy beds, a lovely garden and a cosy log fire. It's a great location to explore the west coast. The animals made the stay really special and the hosts were also a perfect level of attentiveness. Would 10/10 recommend, we really didn't want to leave!”

Noah

“We had such a lovely stay on the farm! Would highly recommend! They were so accommodating to bringing a child and having toys and all the essentials. We loved the character, cleanliness, and charm of the home. The animals in the backyard were an added bonus!”

Grace Lake Norman of Iredell, North Carolina

“Louise came out and welcomed us warmly as we pulled up. The renovated farm building we stayed in was beautifully designed, clean, comfortable, and uncluttered. Their attention to detail evidences a commitment to beauty and care for place, and we couldn't feel luckier to have found it. It's a working farm, so there are plenty of animals to love — their sweet border collie Willow and their charming pig Mable, as well as sheep and cows. These hosts and their space get all the stars. A true gem and delight!”

“Our stay with Louise and Mark in Houndswood Farm was simply wonderful. It was the perfect final stop for our trip to Ireland. From the moment we booked until our departure, Louise and Mark were incredibly welcoming and always available to share their best local recommendations. We were particularly touched by the delicious homemade products waiting for us upon arrival — a generous touch that truly enhanced the experience of being out in nature. The accommodation is perfectly equipped, impeccably clean and located in absolute peace and quiet. We would come back without hesitation.”

Victoire

“An exceptional setting, a very clean place to stay, tasteful décor, very well equipped, a great eye for detail.”

Carine

“We loved our stay at the Houndswood farm. Louise and her family were welcoming and kind, greeting us upon arrival with homemade bread and introducing us to their pig Mable, chickens, kittens and dogs! We felt right at home and had everything we needed. The place is stunning, clean and comfortable!”

Kennedy New Brunswick, Canada

“Louise and Marc's accommodation was simply outstanding. You felt completely comfortable and welcome right from the start, with the welcome and the gift (fresh bread, eggs, butter, jam) as well as fresh flowers on the table. Everything was also just perfect afterwards. The accommodation is furnished with so much attention to detail that there is really nothing missing. There is a pig (Mabel), a dog (Willow), two kittens (Aurora & Silka), a rooster and three chickens running around the farm, which we liked very much. So we were able to enjoy a bit of petting. All in all, the accommodation was definitely a highlight of our trip through Ireland, and we hope to be able to stay there again at some point. Many thanks to the two of them for the wonderful time.”

Mark

“Louise and her family were exceptional (and best) hosts. A wonderful encounter, a very cozy and extremely well-equipped cottage, and a magnificent region to explore. And what's more, they are very attentive to people. Thanks for everything!”

Anne

“Our stay on Houndswood farm was fantastic — the accommodation is beautiful and very stylishly appointed but also extremely comfortable and a place that is very easy to relax in. Louise has thought of everything and is a very thoughtful and welcoming host. We thoroughly recommend a stay here and very much hope to come back ourselves.”

Sarah

“We hit the Jackpot with this AirBnB accommodation. An old stone farm building tastefully renovated to a very high standard. Location is quiet, with plenty of safe, scenic walking on the doorstep. We were fortunate to visit the farm during lambing season and we were made very welcome by the hosts Louise and Mark along with Willow the dog and Mabel the Pot belly pig. We will visit again for sure.”

Christopher

“One of the best trips we've had so far. The place was brand new, spotless, well equipped, and we felt right at home! Louise and Mark were great hosts with a lot of attention to detail. The farm is wonderful and we had a great time meeting some of the animals. The farm is close to the cute little village Cong and we enjoyed several little day trips around the Irish west coast during our stay. We'd go back in a heartbeat. If you're after something that actually feels like a proper countryside escape, this is it.”

Gabriel Basel, Switzerland

“Simply amazing. Stunning, comfortable, peaceful. Lovely, welcoming people. We'd honestly come back every week if we could! Special mention for children, especially if they like animals — it's a farm with sheep, horses, cats, dogs and even a pet pig!”

Sylvain

“We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this farm in Houndswood, which we fell in love with. Louise, Mark and their two children gave us a particularly warm and genuine welcome. Even before we arrived, Louise was very helpful, taking the time to answer all our questions and give us advice on things to do in the area. While we were there, we loved the daily contact with the animals — a real immersion in farm life which the whole family really enjoyed. The house is superb: beautifully renovated, comfortable, and very pleasant to live in. The view from the living room over the surrounding nature is a real plus and encourages relaxation. We leave with very beautiful memories and recommend this place without hesitation!”

Isabelle

“Very rural. It is a farm with converted outbuildings. We deliberately chose it because of the tranquility and its central location to Galway City, Croagh Patrick, Connemara, and Kylemore Abbey. The welcome committee consisted of a Border Collie, chickens, cats and a black pig named Maybel — a real highlight for children. We were the first guests in this Airbnb and would come back at any time. Louise and Mark still have a lot planned and we are looking forward to our next visit.”
